Women and Porn Industry: the Reasons
There are many reasons why a woman may enter the porn industry. To find out these reasons we must go right to the source. Why not ask a famous woman porn star why she does it. Ask why she would want to make a living out of having sex. Many female porn stars have said that they are in the industry because of the money. Porn is a billion dollar industry as money is made through the selling of pornography magazines and movies. Plus the internet is a huge money maker for the porn industry. There are thousands of websites that offer pornographic videos, pictures and even stream live web-cams. Depending on what you wish to see you can watch live footage of people having sex or engaging in other sexual acts. There is also a big market in the phone sex industry. Porn is literally everywhere.
A woman can make a lot of money in the porn industry. Some female porn stars have become so popular that they live in Hollywood mansions. It is easier to make thousands of dollars having sex then it is to work at a fast-food restaurant. A woman in the porn industry has to work less and makes more money in a shorter amount of time. The earning potential is incredible for a woman in this industry.
Some women say that they choose the porn industry because they enjoy having sex. They feel that they are good at sex and this is how they want to earn a living. Many female porn stars are not afraid to brag about their in-bed habits. Some female porn stars have even written books such as the popular “How to Have Sex Like a Porn Star.” There are so many different markets that a porn star can tap into. Female porn stars have their own accessory lines, lingerie lines and much more. Not all of the reasons for a woman to enter the porn industry are positive.
Some women enter the porn industry for negative reasons. Some of the women have been sexually abused or molested and then is how they deal with that pain. Other women choose the porn industry to pay for drug habits or because they feel they can not make money any other way. Some women who have been teenage runaways have entered the porn industry because it allows them to get off the streets. Other women suffer from low self esteem and working in porn makes them feel sexy. There are as many negative reasons as positive reasons on why a woman may enter the porn industry.
While some people look down on and frown at women working in the porn industry we must realize that it is their choice. Some women who are struggling to become models or actresses will do porn films so they are not forced to live on the streets. The biggest reason for women in porn is the money. Several female porn stars have made millions of dollars in the porn industry. The porn industry can be a stepping stone to other things in life. We all start somewhere and the porn industry is where some women choose and want to be.

I’m fasinated by this comment:
“The porn industry can be a stepping stone to other things in life.”
What other things? Women who want to become actress or models don’t have to do porn. In fact, once you do porn, there’s no coming back. You’re not going to be a mainstream actress or model. Name me one woman who has done this? No one wants damaged goods.
Although I sometimes view internet porn … because I’m a pig like most males … sometimes I wonder, “Why would such beautiful women want to do this?” It’s just gross sometimes. It’s sad, too. Men don’t usually think that the women they’re looking is someone’s mother, sister or daughter.
Men … no matter their background, income, education level or religion, cannot control themselves. Porn is just everywhere. It’s killing us.
Fred / June 16th, 2007, 2:35 am / #
Another thing,
Most women who “enjoy” lots of sex or like being in movies, were usually molested as a kid. Lots are girls have been subjected to molestation once in their lives. It affects them for the rest of their lives. Depending on the abuse, it can cause women to head into distructive livestyles like porn. You can say, “Some women have made lots of money doing porn.” So what? Drug dealers make a lot of money. Is that something to look up to or want to become? I could probably make a lot of money doing porn, but I don’t want to do something that disgusting just to make money. Porn is shameful. It will always be, even if more and more are engaging in it in their private lives. It’s still a taboo.

dan / June 19th, 2007, 6:37 am / #
To those criticizing the author’s broad brush strokes regarding the top reasons for females going into porn. Stop it.
Because guess what, high levels of cash is the #1 reason why women (or men for that matter) enter porn. Now, why cant they make money in more prestigious ways, that is another can of worms.
But there is no denying it, women sure as hell would not be willing to be humiliated and groped/cummed on by dirty guys at no charge. Much less be looked at by strangers.

the top pornstar in the world jenna jameson was gang raped as a teenager and molested by her uncle. she came from a unstable family without a mother and an abusive father. read her book
women who do this do it either because of psychological problems resulting from messed up childhoods or they do it for the reason that most evil is in the world money
in a capitalist society where money is god people will do anything to survive. things get justified for money. oh he sells drugs yeh but hes making so much paper hes got a nice car.
freddie / July 17th, 2007, 4:25 am / #
all you people who think this is sexual liberation think again the critic irving babbit said
“all civilizations have fallen due to unfettered sex”
ancient india and greece and china were as sexually perverse
porn encourages promiscious behaviour which results in family breakdown which results in a low birthrate and messed up teenagers growing up without fathers
and if u mess up the family which is the nucleus of society than you have destroyed society.
how is america or europe ever gonna survive with low birthrates.
wake up people its deeper than just porn and so called “sexual liberation”
freddie / July 17th, 2007, 4:30 am / #
Low birth rate?!! Wow ,didnt know we had that issue in our day.In fact,I have 4 children of my own and I spanked it crazy style to a many of porn in my day ..And the only reason this was possible ,because I learned how to please a woman by watching that porn. Also ,isnt porn what they give you at a sperm bank to produce your viable material?..So in fact we can say “PORN” has helped or contributed to a higher birth rate.Anyway ,there is no point to arguing dead subjects.. Porn is here to stay and always will be a part of human culture .Its like protesting oxygen or water.

Porn accentuate disparity of beauty. It’s in a sense the opposite of burga. In consensual society, porn allows pretty girls to out evolve the ugly ones. So ugly bitches hate porn.

ya what i find is porn is both a male/female problem, and i say problem cause when you spend more time in dreams and fantasys, is it any wonder why people suck at real relational sex. young kids-(boys) see this crap then try it out on young girls, then when they get older , it is old news then it gets worse. women and men keep looking for more and more, then in the end they have burn out, and blame the other sex. they suck and sex. when in the reality they do cause they got burnt out on every sexual thing they thought of , so wrong. if you have to watch Porn is it any wonder your pitiful, i think it take more courage to build something solid other a hand job or blow job to get your partner going. Nothing Good comes of Porn, only cash in the producers pocket, sorta like pusher. shames the women. makes males wonder if all women might do these things. Women need to stand up and say no, if you look at it get out. by by looser. visa versa as well. girl on girl, is old news , porn is like road kill, it never gets any better and always smells worse in the open sun. real men dont use porn, well i think it is better said, real men keep it in there pants. and turn off the internet , same applies to women, cause they struggle with this crap as well. KILL PORN, live life longer stop supporting the loosers in the world.

I think we can view porn from both sides the one that is made in west where women most of the time do it on consensual terms and the one made in east Europe by pigs like Pierre Woodmen. Most of the eastern porn stars have got into industry are not that much exploited as are the east European girls. After the fall of Soviet Union there was a chaos in eastern Europe and people had nothing to eat and live for and that’s when these women started selling their bodies for money and that’s when perverts like Pierre Woodmen cashed in that pig was a policeman before he came into this industry and exploited these girls for some meager money and created a multimillion dollar series of castings.I hope that gut rots in hell and according to me at least no eastern European girl comes in this hell consensually.

this is not journalism. its only source of ‘information’ is a single porn actress, if we can believe even that since she’s unnamed.
it’s not all lies, but its also not very true either.

Women in porn lie, they hurt ppl with dishonesty, NEVER tell the truth. Dated porn actress for 5 years, looking back our entire relationship was a lie. She denied everything until proof was overwhelming. I loved her so much, yet im angry bcuz she swore that i was crazy. Stay away from ANYONE in this business. Nothing good will result. Most of the time u wont know until the end anyway…

Porn eats at the fabric of society. Women almost always come from abuse, drugs, broken homes …..etc. Porn eats at your own soul…and I have watched my share of porn. People who do porn are no different that watching pigs fuck in a barn yard. These are not nice people…

Their is much bigger problems in the world then porn. The human body is just that, the human body, and if the woman does not have a problem with showing to the world then why should anyone. You don’t complain when you see a picture of a naked women in a science class, because its for education and porn is very educating, without it we would have a whole generation of virgin males staring at their first coutch like its a hole in space/time. Now maybe some of the girls do have some issues but if you compare them to the mainstream celebrity or even the common woman, they’ll all just as fucked (pun indented) if you ask me, I bet behind the scenes Madonna is a bigger skank then Stephanie Swift the only diff being that one girl is filmed and the other is not filmed, and any girl reading this now… well you know what you have done… for example one reader of this blog by the name of TEENAGE posted this…
“money, is worthless. just like men. woof woof. all i have to do is open my legs and i get whati want from you.
be proud.

You see, even in the common woman its all about using your pussy to get what you want wether that be money, power, crack or whatever. There is just one thing they will never get through such methods… Respect.

Hi
I am pretty pettie, smart 19 year old female that does watch porn now and then on my dyas of work at a deacent respectable job. By seeing me, no one would guess that I stay up until 2 in the morning watching raunchy sleezy porn in order to satisfy my sexual needs. Why? Bc lets face it. Porn is enyoyable to watch however afterwords it leaves you feeling dirty and like a perve. I started viewing soon after I purchased my laptop and I vowed not to do it again since it gave me an uneasy, sticky, sick fealing to venture in to something that corrupts minds. and I guess in a way that is what it did to me. Porn is like a drug that lives and thrives in ones mind. It can have long term side effects like turning bi. I watch i it for hours at time and I HATE IT. I want to stop but I am embarrased to even tell my boy friend who Im supposed to move in with. I enjy waching porn somethimes more than having sex with him and I know that that is not how its supposed to be. PORN CORRUPTS MINDS AND SOULS AND i WANT TO STOP SO I AM REALY GOING TO PRAY THAT THIS STOPS.

I’d like to respond on the statement someone made about a woman using her pussy to get what she wants, the only problem with that is if you use it long enough it’s going to get you many things that you don’t want something that all the money in the world can’t get rid of and I’m not just talking about STDs that’s just part of It ,there is nothing good at all about doing porn no matter how much money is made in the process.
Don't worry about the name / March 2nd, 2009, 11:02 am / #
I am split between whether porn is good or bad. While it can have detrimental affects on the women and men staring in the film such as inability to find a relationship/partner, and or a lack of respect from society. It can also have psycological affects that can be harmful and dibilitating. Porn can also be seen as an art. Some people are good at sex, men and women; they choose to share their ability with the public and in return recieve in some cases large amount of money. I can’t help but think though if there wasn’t such a demand for porn would people really do it. By taking away the demand there wouldn’t be the appeal of big money to be earned, so would people risk their respectablity and harm to their body and mind for this form of art?
The only conclusion I can make is that becasue porn is in such high demand, I think it will always be apart of society. Therefore regulation should be place on it so that it wouldn’t be seen by children, and women/men aren’t forced into becasue of their finacial situation. I also think that for men and women that watch a lot of porn, self awareness is important. Many men think that women want “rough sex” or like to preform “deep throat” but in reality most women’s sexaul behaviors aren’t accuretly represented in porn films. Thus many women feel inadequate to please men that want these types of sexual preformances. And where should the line be drawn? Do the women preform the action or do they say no and think the men should realize their expectations are skewed?
There really is no right/wrong answer.
While many men and women like visual sexual stimuli that porn films offer, would/could erotic readings offer an alternative to porn films?
No one gets hurt, but does it have the same effect sexaully?
I know I much rather read an erotic story then watch a porn movie because I don’t get the same dirty feeling afterwards and I know that regardless whether or not the people in the film were/are enjoying themselves no one actually got hurt in getting me off.

I am a 33 year old wife and mother, and I LOVE PORN! I think more people watch it, or would like to watch it if they didn’t have prefabbed notions instilled in their heads in the form of “moral codes” by outdated ideologies. I give props to the girls (and guys) who have dared to give me my porn! No one should judge other people’s choices in life. The sex industry has been around since time immemorial, and no matter WHY a gal is making adult films, IT IS HER choice. I personally think the insecure ladies are the ones who bitch about their men and their Playboy mags and porn flicks. Put the kids to bed, put on a porno with your man, and get nasty, ladies!!!!!

I think its incredible that people are making this art form, just to acentuate
what men like.I mean subconciously in men there exist a ideal of woman.
These women are like symbols as a man and artist i can find beaty in the images. But i do wonder how people can be so shallow about it ,lets not think that this isnt about the money.Truly i cant think other then there do exists beauty in the woman as a model (preferably i am thinking of photography here)..But i can see as well the reality is that its work for them.I am amazed at how far these women are willing to go ..some them are quite beautiful and seem ..realy to have something kind. But the fact is,these kind of people must have a weird self image i cannot think that women realy like to expose their self all the time and for us the male..

Look, I’m 44 and have been an avid hardcore porn watcher of magazines and movies since I was 19, and as liberal and free-thinking as I try to believe I am, I still feel dread and discomfort after dealing with porn. Sure, shaking hands with myself while watching porn has been a source of great physical relief over the years. I’ve endured many an orgasmic seizure courtesy of Mary Palm & her 5 sisters. To see the kind of person who matches every physical characteristic you desire on a DVD, right there, right now doing the things you can only dream of doing is certainly a great experience. hi hmsheppard, its good that you are getting rid off all your porn stuff. and this goes to the people that don’t know what porn is doing to their minds, soul, body and heart. firstly i would like to move to god’s perspective on this. you god made sex but satan perveted it. satan made it into a lustful desire.
god intended sex for reproduction and for husband and wife only.
you see guys, satan know in which areas we are vulrable and then he attacks us with full power. a power that is to corrupt out minds. satan has a sex scence almost in our everyday life. if you turn on the tv, he has a channel for us with sex…..you drive and go to the mall. there is an advertisment of something sextual. you surfing the net and then an icon pops up, of a beautiful half naked women. do you think this is just a considence………..noooooo not at all. the devil is ever willing to pull out new stunts. now that hmsheppeard is trying to give up all his porn stufff. the enemy will do everthing in his power to get you back on porn. and then you will notice that you are more tempted now than before. but ask yourselves why?????……………………….why now?………..its is because satan wants you destroyed to the ground, he wants your soul. he will never give you the chance to give it up unless you accept jesus in your life and repent of all your sins. that’s the only way you can be free from bondage. pornagraphy corrupts ones mind to a state that a person then desires to have with more than one women. he then commits adultry. he might desire to have sex with a man…ect. on, he wants to experience different kinds of style but the mere fact is that its all just the same. once you orgasm, you come back to the correct state of mind. regretting at times or you feel disgusted with yourself. but why is this people…………………….it is because of the lustful desire of your heart. you see we brought up in todays world in believing that sex is all about satisfying one another’s needs. if my wife cannot do it right, i will then look for someone else to satisfy my desire. but the mere fact is that satan has got hold of you through porn. we need to have god’s love in our sex lives, not satan’s lustfulness which comes though porn. we need to seek god more, read our bibles and pray then we will develope this great love for god and we will receive this love back. then you will see that when you have sex, it won’t be a passion thing or a lustful desire but you will then make real love with your spouse. why is that you see only women in advertisement. women who are half naked. it is because the advertisment industry knows how to get a man’s attention. perhaps you’ve seen a new car sale and guess who you see promoting it. A SEXY BLONDE WOMEN(HALF NAKED), you see even the advertisemnt industry knows how to get mans attension and that is through……..soft core porn or hardcore porn. so if they know how to get the minds of the people. what about satan. do you think he is dumb. well he is the cause of all this. he gives people his ideas which they then carry out his plan his objective, which is to ruin mankind and destory the human race. and that’s through destroying the soul which will then lead us to hell. i want to encourage you today to give up all your sins, its not going to be easy. but i would like to help you with this. so if you need help pleas contact me via mail shane@rrmkt.co.za, and i will gladly help. there is alot to say on this topic but i pray god will pour out his favour upon your lives and i pray that you will be redeemed in jesus christ name……………………..amen,
ps: love yourll

i liked your writing. like you said, porn is everywhere. one click on the net and u get tonnes of results. but that doesn’t mean is morally right. though i m not a pious person, i strongly believe in religious teachings. why? mainly because history has taught us that whenever humans do something morally wrong, something bad happens. porn poisons young minds, its causes addiction to many people and it really sucks when one is addicted to porn. they say porn is even more vicious compared to other drugs. i believe porn contributes to rape cases all around the world. and the worst part is, people actually MAKE it sound OK by saying its free rights and so on. all we do are basically satisfying our primal urges. we fail to control them, humans are animals without control, we cannot let our primal urges to take control and then come out with some crap like free rights and so on AS AN EXCUSE to let this immoral act go wild. believe me, porn has done a whole lot more damage to the society than good. perhaps the only good thing about this is to watch drop dead gorgeous girls naked.

I just want to know where they find them. I know many women I went to school with have stripped. I know a few others who became street hoes. But I know of none who became porn stars (I met “Lacy Duvalle” after high school and college), although a few of my exes probably could have.
WHERE DO THEY FIND THEM? Especially the Black ones. Don’t they care if their church-going grandmothers see them?
But most of all, I want to know who they are BEFORE they get into the industry. I met Lacy Duvalle right as she was getting into it, and she seemed normal…just freaky as hell.
I met her on blackplanet.com and the first thing she sent me was a picture of her masturbating. She was just a regular girl with a page back then…this was in like 2000. And i remember, she was only about 19 then.
I just want to know…where do they get these broads? lol. I want to go there and, ehem, “see” (read: bang) a few of them before they become porn stars.

While the particulars are not important here the fact remains of our five daughters one was very, very, uh, precocious with/about sex at a very, very early age. Through her pediatrician and a slew of child psychiatrists we learned this particular daughter was born a textbook, clinically verified nymphomaniac.
Yes, she became and is still today a whore, a prostitute and has done her fair share of small-scale porn, of lot of which was done while she was still in high school.
BUT, she also went to and graduated from a major-league university with a double major in fashion design and marketing and has owned a very successful wedding dress design studio. She also owns a very successful escort service.
Does she like sex? Yes! She needs sex like you and I need other basics for social and mental satisfaction. Is she a drugged up/hyped up/hopped up booze swilling/cigarette smoking tramp? NO. She doesn’t drink alcohol (can’t stand the taste she says) and has never smoked anything! She’ll make you feel like a best friend you never had and if interested give you the best sex you ever had too.
So, don’t condem all in the industry, as tawdry people. Some wives and daughters and sons and fathers are different than you is all; some good and some bad.
We have learned much from our promiscuous daughter and still are…but we are lucky ones.

Here’s a thought… If we don’t buy it there’s no need for it? I bet the people who blame the porn industry for the demoralization of society are also the people who blame the alcohol industry for alcoholism and the TV shows for war, and all the violence in the world?
Ha! These finger pointers are most likely the biggest contributors to the porn industry… LMAO!!!

Hey Ivan…I think you’re full of it. You claim to be talking about your daughter…yet you state, “She’ll make you feel like a best friend you never had and if interested give you the best sex you ever had too.” I know of no father, no matter what their daughter had done or become, who would talk of her in this manner. How would you know if she’ll give you the “best sex you ever had?” You either find this somehow titillating…lending evidence to the idea that plenty of women who go into porn were molested or at least overly sexualized by adult males at an early age….I would also be curious about what pediatricians or child psychiatrists are diagnosing “nymphomania” these days.
Your tale has many holes… Perhaps there’s a lot about your daughter’s upbringing that you aren’t sharing..or don’t know…or maybe you aren’t talking about someone other than your daughter.

Little girls can definitely experience pleasure through being molested by an adult if the adult molests in a way that respects the boundries of the child (i.e. not forcing if the child tries to leave or says she doesn’t like that and stopping on the childs request and leaving the child free to leave if she pleases to do so). Childrens’ genitals have nerve endings just like those of an adult and they can orgasm. If the adult is enjoying molesting and the child is enjoying being molested then there is no victim. Then if they want to do porn when they grow up, more power to them.

Hey Ivan,
Why would the church going grandmothers of the black porn stars be watching porn in the first place to see their children getting fucked? Also, what would the grandmother say? “I was watching Hot Wet Hoes part 2 last night and I couldn’t help but noticing was that you getting boned in scene 3″?

Hmm…I am a female, and I will say I enjoy pron very much. I’m just consumed with this awful guilty feeling afterwards. ( this I think is due my ridiculous religious upbringing). Nontheless, I continue to enjoy porn. I think that yes, many women have been subject of abuse and use the porn field as a channel to deal with the pain, but I really do think that there are women who genuinely enjoy sex. We must not be closeminded about this being a fact. Now, I personally do NOT feel is a respectable field, but to each it’s own. ( I would not pass judgement on someone who does this , this is only my opinion) if one can live with the fact that this is their carreer , embrace it and accept it for what it is, then so be it. However, don’t expect to be praised for it either. ( at least not by another woman). Respected ..hmm? not really but hey , I can give kudos to the talent? maybe ?

To all the morons who think porn is great, and has no downsides to it, in relation to the girls who perform in it.
Just answer me this question, if you had a daughter, would you honestly want her to be a pornactress/prostitute?…
Yeah,thought not.

hey dave,
You sound like your a paedophile to me,how do you know little girls take pleasure from being molested by an adult, unless you’ve molested a kid?
Also what you said, is the defence that all paedophiles come out with, to justify, there sick, perverse ,abuse of innocent children.
My advice to you is to seek professional psychiatric help, before you abuse a child, or another child; or before the police seek you out.

i work in the porn industry and i’ve got to say all but maybe ONE of the girls i’ve met had issues. most of them just enjoy the money and enjoy sex. i dont think its fair to use one or two girls who were molested as children as an example of all porn actresses. i’m not saying that because i’m a producer or a director or something, i do gay porn. it’s a legitimate business. its a free market society. if there is a need for it, someone will produce it. i’m willing to bet everyone that has commented on this has watched porn at some point in their life. how exactly does porn “poison young minds”…? does it teach them how to have sex or something? i’m confused. i’m betting you say it poisons young minds because it makes people realize there are people out there who are a lot better looking than you. also, whats wrong with doing porn to build up your self esteem? if it makes you happier, more power to you.

I’m a woman and I watch porn. I don’t like the gang bang crazy type of porn. But, it is so sexy to see a beautiful couple doing intimate things. I think the casses of young teenagers getting lured into it are few and far between because there are a lot of willing women into it not to mention the men who do it. We are in a recession and I suspect people would rather screw than get screwed and be on the streets. Porn serves a great need for people who want to fantasize and not go out raping people or cheating on their spouses.

Porn is what it is. Many people are visually stimulated by erotic images and there is a consumer market for it. I agree with the comments that women who make porn, for the most part, enjoy doing it. Most of these women are only in the market for a short time as they collect their money and then proceed on to school or a more “respectable” career of choice. The abundance of fresh faces and talent available to producers would attest to that. Certainly no porn “actress” has any notions of ever standing side by side with Meryl Streep at an awards ceremony. They are pretty women who have chosen a particular venue of modeling. What is wrong with that?
I’d rather live next door to a former porno actress or stripper than a sex predator. Let them be, they choose this lifestyle and we as consumers support it. It’s never gonna change.
Stu / December 21st, 2009, 5:05 am / #
god didn’t invent sex. sorry to tell you that. a person experiencing sexual pleasure isn’t morally wrong (unless of course mollestation abuse etc are involved) by a standard that “god” set. women have been sexually oppressed due to religion, society, etc. and although porn isnt a good example of how women enjoy sex (the pornographic industry relies on male consumers primarily) it shows that females can enjoy sex too. WOMEN HAVE THE CHOICE to get into this profession. call them wrong or abused mollested etc…it’s still THEIR CHOICE. It’s your choice to judge yourself and them according to your “non judgemental christianity” and only prove to yourself how wrong you really are. shut your mouth and open your mind.

well as far as this conversation on porn goes.. i enjoy porn. i know its degrading to women and it is morally corrupt but lets face it.. its addicting but its problem is, it also shows men that they HAVE to have a big dick in order to fuck like a porn star.. which is completely false.. in general men are average 6 inches to 7 inches normally..its not impossible to pleasure a woman with waht you have.. others were blessed with bigger and kudos.. but the ones who have a 6incher, and watch porn feel the need to make themselves bigger due to low self esteem which porn protrays on our minds.. i do agree that porn affects those who have a concience… the guilty feeling is just that.. especially if you have a bf or gf.. but hey it does relieve stress. and i do think that it does have a positive side… you can learn alot from it.. people who are sexually inexperienced can learn by visual aids such as porn… and it can also be used to further excitement in the bedroom.. i guess its a toss up.. whatever your concience says go with that..

Sadly todays porn is more perverted than it ever has been and women are being asked to do things that are not healthy for their body. Gang rape scene, double anal, get beaten, slapped, drink loads of cum, double penetration…it is not natural and is really hard on the body. Let’s not forget piss play and sometimes even scat. It is really sad and people are delusional if they think this career will bring them great success. There are only a couple of female porn stars who have made millions, please do not delude people in making it sounds like most women are very successful in this terrible industry. Be more truthful and speak about the side of porn which is never spoken about. The young deaths, Venerial Deseases such as AIDS, the exploitation of young children….18 is hardly old enough to make a rational decision. Your article if full of holes and full of bullshit.

TIT, Why don’t you ask that question to a female porn star whether or not she can marry a man? Nowadays people are changing their wedded partners like their dress robes. Porn is not inherently disgusting, nor does it in itself cause “sticky feelings”. Negative or guilty feelings that arise from watching porn originate from taboos around sex, not the sex itself.

Porn is one of the few careers where especialy in the technological age where we have of the whole Sexting craze and employers learning everything they want about you by the click of a mouse, is one that is alot more serious and damaging than many girls think so.
The so called Liberation of women as many of the men on here have posted
is a complete load of crap, IT IS NOT LIBERATING if your only purpose is to take your clothes off, its almost like a slap in the face to all the women who have struggled in the 60’s and 70’s for equal rights and for the right to vote to say that porn is a liberation front for them, if it is so liberating in a sense then why aren’t more men doing it why isnt GUYS GONE WILD the top of video sales
why arent more NFL stars caught by TMZ whipping it out more. But i digress
its really just more so than anything sad that women still in this day and age are judged by their bodies and nothing else, funny fact one of the famed softcore porn actresses Aria giovanni actualy has a degree in biology, and recieved that degree all before the age of 18, she is actualy extremely smart yet no one would ever even think to know that about her and she obviously hasnt applied that to her own life, so really its kind of a waste because when youre in this industry for so long its really difficult for any decent guy to snap out of the fantasy character they play and get ot know the women as who they are as people.
I dont neccesarily think porn is bad, many married couples watch it to help their romance in the bedroom, its alot safter to watch and masterbate by yourself than to go out and screw the first girl you see, (helps lower the unplanned birth rate) as well has been known to be a stress and anxiety reliever in men and women, now do i think it is a good thing, not im not saying that either, porn is very much a taboo subject that i doubt many will ever be able to come to a medium to.
My main problem with it i would say is the image not only porn but the media, magazines, tv channels like SPIKE TV as well as the general education system in our schools is i believe one of the while not complete definatly one of the reasons for the rise of young girls in the adult film industry. Women are bombarded left and right since birth practicaly that above all else BEAUTY is the one thing you need to have in life to succeed, from barbie, to brats, to seventeen magazine, to pop stars dressing like whores, girls nowadays have little to no role models to look up to, some could say Hannah Montana though many were quick to bash her down as nothing more than a slut because of a few taboo photos, was she naked NO, but regardless.
Without any sort of role model or figure to look up to and aspire to be like
girls learn seemingly very quickly in todays age, that they just have to go with what works best, “showing their bodies” because thats what they see men like, in magazines on billboards on the show MANSWERS everywhere they look girls see that as what is going to get a guy to pay attention to them, and then they fall into the trap of thinking if i just take my clothes off they will like me, i will be beautiful just like the magazines, i will be loved.
Its sad so many young girls believe this is what life is all about
and too many times girls fall into the porn industry not realizing the consequences that will follow them all thru their life.
these photos will follow them for the rest of their life
so will the videos
sure when your 18 you dont think anything of it but then again when your 18 you probably thought you could just move out to hollywood and become a movie star just like that.
my only suggestion would be we need more strong female role models in the world to show girls that this isnt the ONLY OPTION they have to make a living in.

Porn in the 70s was a different beast than now, and even then, people got AIDS and Od’ed and killed themselves. At least then, they were getting paid a lot of money to do something few people can do. I have a gf and I’m a sometime consumer of porn, and I havent bought porn in fifteen years. There’s no need to, it’s all over the net. SOme of the things I look at, most notably the casting couch type ones where they hire some hooker to come in and play act amaze me because it seems clear that some of the 18-20 year olds really believe porn is a road to anywhere. At least in the past, you could have a career. Now, you might ruin your entire future for 300 bucks. Then again, I think in the future, so many people of the young generation will have been in porns that it will no longer be any kind of stigma. It seems like half of the hot woman under 30 for the last fifteen years have prob been in one. And, yes, the extent of the perversity has grown, but there is still plenty of straight stuff. But these women buying the old this is the road to fame, honey, have got to be some of the most misguided ever. THey must just be hos already. I cant believe that many are gullible.

Lol. You people are silly and naive if you think the porn industry is this wonderful world of women deciding for themselves to enter and stay in the industry. Sad thing is, some of you are grown and this naive. I’m familiar with the industry, myself ( no, i was never a performer ), and I witnessed a thing or two, firsthand. What is liberating about the repeated rape and beatings of industry women who are subsequently fed heroin to make them forget it ever happen? 75% of porn actresses are heroin addicts, which is an evil drug if I ever seen one. You can violate a woman in the worst way and then fed her heroin to put her in a state of oblivion, which most industry chicks are subjected to. They’re all either addicted to meth or heroin. Hell, half of them shoot the actual scenes while they’re high, why else do you think they’re alright with gangbangs, being pissed on, defacated on, throatfucked, ATM, and RAW at that. You’re silly if you believe these girls get tested regularly like the good folks at these companies like Vivid and Brazzers tell you. Like I said before, I was IN the industry, myself. There are no codes of ethics in porn. I guarantee you every girl in the industry has an STD, herpes being as common as handshakes. AIDs? There’s no telling. People read that porn stars are safe. Lol. How gullible you people are. Those girls are all dying slow deaths while the companies behind them make killings ( no pun lmao ). As far as people thinking porn is great for sex education – trust me, even the porn girls themselves wouldn’t do that shit if it wasn’t for drug addiction/money. You’d have to be a fool to practice anything you see in pornography, with your partners.
But, just like media and celebrity star-power, the internet seems to have this uncanny ability to make even the strangest and most repulsive of practices become mainstream. People are sheep, dangle something in front of them long enough, whether it be on cable television or the internet, the sheep will emulate it. People are losing their humanity, that’s why people think porn is okay.

In US the prostitution is illegal. The law definitions vary between porn, escort service, nude modeling and prostitution. However, in morality, they are one and the same. The bottom line is to get some remuneration or commission for a sexual act. US Makes laws to keep rich richer and poor poorer as it is a capitalistic nature country and has to allow all possible ways to make money. Cleverer will gain and dumb will loose. Escort services, porn film making and nude modeling is just a cover. Under the hood that happens is some sort of sexual act which is nothing but prostitution.

I think an EXPERIENCED ex-porn star should definitely weigh in on this discussion. I looked back at the responses and this thread has only been going on for 2 years! Wow…
Anyway, I hate to say this but much of what is said on this thread is true: most of the women do come from troubled childhoods and most, if not all, have been sexually abused as children. Myself included. I was molested by an uncle repetively at 3 years old. I lost my mother at 6; she was murdered by her boyfriend.
Most are on drugs and depend on them to get through their scenes.
I was one of the very few who was not addicted to drugs. Did I party? Sure. But never was high during a single scene or got dependent on them. It just never was my thing. I did 60 films total before going on to finish college. Most do hundreds. My reason was purely for the money. I liked to live well: nice fast cars, clothing and home. That was my addiction. I saved a couple hundred thousand, flipped it in the stock market and left. I completed my BA in behavioral science and masters in social science and now preparing to go to PhD school for psychology. People still try and get me to work sometimes, but I’ve got way to much to lose now. It’s not even an option for me. It’s not worth my time or energy.
Whoever wrote this article is waaay out of touch (lol). It is nothing like that. I was one of the really fortunate, lucky ones. I had a lot of people helping me and my father’s side of the family are all pretty successful, and they helped me too. Most of the women are homeless. Mansions!!? Who? Jenna Jameson is pretty much the only woman who did that well. She had a very wealthy john who invested in her. They make good money, but they blow most of it on partying and leave the industry with nothing. When I say good money, I’m talking anywhere from 200-2000 per scene and you do not work everyday. It is the production companies who make the real dough as they do not compensate performers for sales or distribution. YOU SIGN AWAY ALL OF YOUR RIGHTS, OR YOU DO NOT GET TO WORK. That is the part that bothered me the most. Besides, the risk of getting sick was just way to great. HIV is rare, but it does happen. All other STD’s run rampant in the industry. And yes, nearly everyone has herpes. From what I know, it’s around 70% or something. I never got anything, but a yeast infection and I thank God everyday.
The other thing to note is, you HAVE to work without condoms, or you cannot work. There are only 2 productions companies who allow condom use during scenes: Vivid and Wicked.
I realize they make these films and stars look great and all. They are supposed to make everyone look fantastic. It’s their job; it what they do. They sell sex and fantasy. But keep it real and understand that it’s much more to it than what you see. A lot of things are edited and left out and you don’t get to see the unappealing stuff: the girl crying or grimacing against pain, the couple fighting and arguing with each other, unidentifable body fluids oozing, the director using tactics to get the girl to “perform.” It’s exploitation at the highest level you can imagine. Wank if you must, but at least know what it is you are really looking at.

The author use very vague term ’sexual liberated’, this is the term that many in the porn industry uses when they relates to porn, like “they are being sexually liberated”, but the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.
Do you really feel when a female has been called ‘a slut’ and then headbanged or gangraped that she is being sexually liberated?!? Or do you more feel like that this girls are being sexually molested, which is a correct term for most(if not all) of today porns and not just the the the most exaggerated ones like kink.com

My problem with porn, having first started looking at it at about the age of 15 up until right now, the age of 25, is that there is a fine line between viewing a hot woman who is genuinely enjoying what she is doing, to viewing something much darker. For me it confuses my ideas about women and their sexual wants and needs. If you look closely when you view porn you’ll notice that some women seem conscious and wakeful, sensitive to what they are doing, and other look pretty vacant and gormless. The fact is that a lot of what you are seeing has become some mechanical for these woman that they are not even fully there.
I started looking at porn aged 15. I remember it would take about 5 minutes for one image to load up of the screen sometimes. I was totally drawn into the fantasy and the escape from reality that porn provided. I was very impulsive at this age and had no awareness of what it was beginning to do to me. My attitude towards girls was not good. I guess i had a fairly typical misspent youth.
It was at university that it became a problem for me. I shut myself away and would watch it for hours. I had to get some hypnosis tapes to get me to stop looking at it- and this took a long time with a few relapses. Pornography for me is usually an escape. unfortunately although the escape was nice, reality was a lot worse and it caused me to become insecure, lacking in confidence and also unable to really connect with women. I find that porn makes sex and companionship- a girlfriend, when you’re a single guy that is, harder to find.
Now i’m at a real low point in my life again, am back at home after a year away, and have had a relapse.
I get drawn in- as it’s too easy, and before i know it i’m lost- back in the fantasy land again.. and once again i stop and am back in reality, and i’ve made my world a little darker and a little more depressing.
Does anyone else find that?

I can’t imagine very many pornstars are educated. And they make lots of money, from where? From people who view porn. So billion dollar industry made from money coming out of horny peoples pockets and into those of some fake titted highschool dropout.
Also sexual liberation from what? Is anything really taboo anymore? I can have w/e kind of sex I want and big brother doesnt come crashing in to stop it. Sexual liberation= no burkas. Seriously, whats next? Public orgies? “Sexual liberation”

I am a beautiful 36 year old female, I participated in porn for 5 years 12 years ago. I will never go back. People are right, its the money that draws you and its the need for attention often times due to the mindset that women are only good for sex.
When I was 13 I was raped by my grandfather repetitively, when I turned 17 I was gang raped by a group of guys at my high school. I turned to drugs to try to forget how nasty and useless I must be. At 19 I felt that the only way anyone would ever love me is if I slept with them or ‘got them off’. Finally someone got me into the porn industry after they raped me and made me believe it was my fault. I needed the money so I did it. I made the money but I never got clean, I am forever ‘dirty’. I quit when I turned 24, my bestfriend (who is a guy) got me out. I went to school, got my doctorite in psychology, went to Medical school and have had lots of therapy. I am now a very successful psychiatrist making $200,000 a year, I married that bestfriend of mine and have two kids. BUT, I WILL NEVER FORGET. If you knew what some of those women have gone through, you would look at it much differently. But you dont know. You cant understand..and that is OK.
